Hello! I have traced family back to Farranacushog townland, Dunaghy Parish, County Antrim. Hugh Curry and wife Ella Patterson had children Alexander, Mary Ann, Hugh, James, ANdrew, Latitia, John, Sarah. Hugh emigrated to Canada as did the first four children, then to Americs, ended up in West sparta, NY. Any information on that Curry family would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you! Sasha

      Hi!
I have a huge list of information on that family, as I am a descendant. Hugh was like a 5th or 6th Great Grandfather. I would love a to send you any info I have and vice versa. ~Liz

        Liz,

I just stumbled on this post while looking for information on the Curry line in West Sparta. Hugh would be my fifth great grandfather. Tonight I found the marriage record for Alexander Curry and Margaret Nicholl who came to America with Hugh soon after the marriage. The marriage was in 1846 and I have a NY census record with them in West Sparta in 1850. Do you know when exactly they came to America and do you have any information from when they lived in Ireland?

Thanks for any information you can share.

        Nathan

I’m seeking information on the Eaton Family Co Antrim, Ireland. I’m trying to confirm that John Eaton the father of Timothy Eaton is the brother of my 4th Great-Grandfather. I would like to find his parents names so I can trace this family further.

    Thank you

    Donna

  6. Barbara Walsh Says:

My sister and I are researching my great-grandparents who came from Cullybackey. John Sibbitt (Sibbett, Sibbat, and various other spellings), born any 1862. His father James.

Great-grandmother Matilda Knox, any 1864. Her parents, William Knox (his father John, I think) and Elizabeth Ann Marshal, her father James.

John Sibbitt and Matilda Knox were married in Ireland and then moved to the US, settling in Cleveland, Ohio. They had five daughters starting around 1892.

    Can you help?

    • genealogygirl Says:

I don’t remember seeing the Sibbett name before. Knox is very common. My family was not from Cullybackey but maybe someone else will see this post and help you.

  7. Barbara Walsh Says:

Thanks so much for replying. After refining some of the search definitions I found my great-grandmother’s sister, so I’m on a roll! So exciting!

  8. genealogygirl Says:

Good luck. I do have a cousin i could get in touch with who lives in Cullybackey. She might know something about the family.

  9. Barbara Walsh Says:

That would be wonderful. We’d appreciate any help we can get. Please feel free to give her my e-mail address. And thank you again!

  14. Barbara Walsh Says:

We no longer live in Cleveland but grew up in Euclid.
