Kirkinriola Cemetery, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland Plot book

My friend in N. Ireland, Alistair McCartney, has kindly allowed me to add his spreadsheet index of the Kirkinriola plot book.  He, my sister and I took pictures of the cemetery books at the Braid Museum in Ballymena and he has worked very hard on transcribing the Kirkinriola book.  Although everything in the book is after 1876 and there are no death dates or anything like that, the names  may be of help to someone.  These are plot owners, not necessarily people buried in Kirkinriola. Thanks again to Alistair.

I am descended from Crawfords who are buried in Kirkinriola, dating to 1717. I would dearly like to find out more about the graveyard and records

Hi, sorry I took so long to post a reply. Trying to find records from that early is almost impossible. There are no actual burial records for Kirkinriola. The only ones there were are in a book started about 1876 and it has gone missing from the registrar’s office.

I have a friend who transcribed the grave plot registrations which are here on my blog but they are much more recent that that. He is also working on transcribing and photographing each tombstone there. When he is finished it hopefully will be on the Braid Museum site. If not it will get set up some place I am sure.

There certainly are lots of Crawfords in that area. When did your Crawfords leave Ireland or are you still there?

It’s hard to come by well-informed people for this subject, however, you seem like
you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
