Some day I will find some source that will explain to me why the numbers changed on Michigan Ave, in Detroit between 1888 and 1891. Also why did Frank and George move from their residence over the store to residences a couple of miles west of the store. FYI if the brothers traveled west on Michigan Ave and Frank went north and George went south where Briggs Stadium then/Tiger Stadium was eventually built about a half mile each they would both be at their new residences. My father retells the store that the brothers could watch the baseball games from their store. Not likely but could be on their way home. Did one of both of the brothers get married to cause the move to the new residences?
Possibly they just wanted more space. We are also not entirely sure the numbers were changed but I suspect it would be possible to find out at the Burton at the Detroit Library.
Find A Grave

Click on Museum, then Genealogy and a search box will come up for searching tombstone transcriptions. Note you must click on search not just hit enter or no entries will come back.
